Never Ever Give Up – Rodgers invited to 67s OHL camp

2009-07-27

Wild graduate Chris Rodgers will be looking for a spot on the OHL’s Ottawa 67s after earning an invitation to the team’s main camp in August as a free agent.

Rodgers, who came up through the Cumberland Barons Minor hockey association, played the last two seasons with the Eastern Ontario Wild.  He suited up for the Minor Midget Wild in 2007-08, and was selected to play in the 2008 OEMHL AAA Showcase All-Star Game.

He was drafted by the CJHL Ottawa Junior Senators in 2008, and was invited to attend the Team Canada East Evaluation Camp for the 2008 World Junior A Challenge.  He returned to the Wild as Major Midget in 2008-09, scoring 20 points in 25 games.

Over the last two years the Orleans native has appeared in 15 games in the CJHL as an affiliate player with the Hawkesbury Hawks, scoring two goals and one assist.
