Eastern Ontario Wild AAA
2021/22 Head Coach Profiles:

U15: Carl Robillard
Carl is excited to return with the EO Wild for yet another season.  After making tremendous steps in the first year, Carl and his coaching staff are looking forward to taking another step forward with the team and competing for a Major Bantam AAA league championship.  Away from the ice, Carl is a family man with 2 amazing kids (Bryelle 20 and Jakob 17) and great wife (Michelle) who lovingly supports him throughout his very busy work and hockey schedule.

With over 13 years of tier 1 coaching experience, his coaching philosophy is pretty simple.  He surrounds everything around these 3 basic principles.  TEAM FIRSTHARD WORK and DISCIPLINE.

In order to achieve these principals, Carl strives to build an environment that encourages players to learn and develop on and off the ice while creating a positive learning atmosphere in both good and hard times.  All players need to be given the opportunity to develop their skills in a structured and disciplined learning environment that constantly challenges them while providing encouragement and support.  He firmly believes that, when dealing with highly motivated and committed athletes, strong communication skills in both a group and/or an individual setting is the cornerstone of any coach’s responsibility.

Recent Coaching Achievements include:
  • 2014/2015 Regular Season Championship Major Peewee AAA
  • 2014/2015 Playoff Championship Major Peewee AAA
  • 2014/2015 Provincial Silver Medal

U14: Dave Byrne
Dave is returning for a fourth season with the Wild and will continue leading the EO Wild ‘08 hockey program. Following a year of development work with the players and the opportunity to establish a culture of pride, accountability, and competitiveness, Dave is excited to continue that growth into the coming season. Dave’s core philosophy is based on the principle "If an athlete can't learn from the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn." Dave values his role as a teacher and always prioritizes the personal connection with players, while at the same time holding them accountable to be better as athletes, teammates, and leaders. The players benefit from Dave's attention to detail and his ability to use creative ways to communicate. Individual skills, tactics, and systems are all broken down and simplified for each player to learn. He believes in and will establish, a team environment with discipline and structure that supports a learning environment.

The EO Wild 08 coaching staff will also include, returning Asst. Coach, Michel Pilon, who has 30+ years of coaching experience at all levels including Jr A, AAA, and AA. As well as, Asst. Coach Dan Leblanc who returns to the Wild family and brings years of experience at the AAA and AA level, including his most recent role this past season as an Assistant Coach with the ’08 Jr 67’s AAA team.

U13: Chris Martin
Chris is excited to return for a third season with the EO Wild. With his experience as an OHL and NHL scout, he knows what teams look for in a hockey player. At the local level, besides his AAA experience, Chris has coached at the CCHL Jr A level reaching the Fred page Cup final with the Ottawa Jr Senators. Chris is currently part of OJS scouting staff at the U-18 and Jr A level helping the club reach great success over the past 4 seasons.  His yearly summer development sessions have helped minor hockey players, Jr A players and OHL players alike hone their skills and keep them ready for their respective upcoming seasons. The Eastern Ontario Wild are happy to have Chris come back behind our bench and guide the U13 Team into the 2021-2022 season.
