Billets Needed - Rockland Nationals Jr. A

Becoming a Billet Family has been a long-standing tradition in Junior Hockey. Hosting a player in your home gives opportunities to hockey players that range in age from 16 – 20 years-old to compete at the Junior A level.  

While pursuing these hockey opportunities, many players are also completing high school, enrolled in post-secondary education and work part-time jobs.  It takes special people to open their homes and hearts to our players and we take the utmost care to ensure our players are placed in environments that are conducive to care, understanding and safety

As a Billet Family your role is…

• • To be a mentor, friend, counselor, and a good role model.

  • To provide a clean, family-oriented environment.

  • To provide nutritious meals and snacks.

  • To provide a private bedroom and a desk/workspace for homework.

  • To listen and give encouragement.

  • To support and build up your player’s self-esteem.

  • To treat the player as “one of the family”.

  • To provide a Non-Smoking Household.

COMPENSATION:

While hosts receive a monetary honorarium to help offset some of the costs, the true rewards are in the lasting relationships that are developed. The Rockland Nationals could not operate without the support of so many great Billet Families in our community. Families will receive the following compensation:

• • Room and board ($500/month, per player)

  • Two (2) home game season tickets including pre-season and all playoff games

  • Invitations to exclusive team events

Note: All successful applicants will be subject to a Child Abuse Registry Check and a Criminal Record Check.
