Eastern Ontario Sweeps Wild Day

Matt Morin celebrates one of his 4 goals in the Major Bantam Wild's 9-6 win over the Cyclones on Wild Day.

There was no shortage of goals as the Eastern Ontario Wild swept their opponents during the second annual Wild Day, scoring 24 goals along the way to 4 wins.

The Minor Bantam Wild set the tone for the day in the opening game with a 3-1 win over the Ottawa Senators. 

The Minor Midget Wild, fresh from their big win at the Nike Baeur tournament in Chicago, dominated the Sens from start to finish, skating off with an 8-1 win.  Pier-Olivier Fournier led the way with 3 goals and 5 points, while Connor Primeau had 4 points on 2 goals and 2 assists.  Carl Faucher added a pair and Jayden Lemire rounded out the scoring. - Kevin Hope, Justin Blanchard-Pellerin and Philippe Drouin also had multi-point games.

The third game saw the Major Bantams take on Cyclones.  Despite being outshot 33-21, the boys handed Upper Canada a 9-6 loss.   Matt Morin had 4 goals, while Mark Golberg found the back of the net twice and added a pair of assists.  Remi Elie and Jordan Baptiste each had three points, and Zach Car, Jean-Luc Theoret and Matt Desautels each collected a pair of points.  

After three wins in three games, the pressure was on the Major Midget Wild in the nightcap, and they did not disappoint, edging the OHA 4-3.  Avery Woodside broke a 3-3 tie in the third with his second point of the game.  Lakota Jacobs also had a goal and an assist, and seven other players each had a point.
