Meighan makes U-17 Cut

2010-04-12

Centre Curtis Meighan has earned a spot in the tryouts for the Ontario U-17 team this summer.

11 players from Wild invited to regional tryouts

Curtis Meighan has made the cut at the Ottawa Regional Under-17 tryouts and will advance to the provincial tryouts for the Ontario U-17 team later this summer.

Meighan was one of 11 players from the Minor Midget Wild who were invited to the Ottawa tryouts. The others were Justin Blanchard-Pellerin, Patrick Cyr, Philippe Drouin, Carl Faucher, Alexandre Gendron, Kevin Hope, Dylan Leclair, Ryan McCaughan, Connor Primeau, and Nathaniel Quinn.  Congratulations to all of the players who were selected for the regional try-outs.

Meighan overcame adversity this year, missing most of the 2009-10 season as a result of off-season knee surgery.  He returned to the Minor Midget Wild in mid-January, and picked up 10 points in the last five games of the regular season.  He added three points in five playoffs games.  After the Wild was eliminated, he played four games with the Junior A Cumberland Grads in the CJHL, who protected him after the 2008-09 season.

Good luck to Curtis at the provincial tryouts!
