President’s seat still vacant after AGM

2010-05-19

Two new members join the Wild Board following the 2010 Annual General meeting, and two others take on new responsibilities, but the search for a new president continues after Tansey steps down.

The Eastern Ontario Wild has added new blood to its executive Board as members elected two new directors at the 20010 annual general meeting in Maxville on May 17.  However no one stepped forward to serve as president, and there is no representation on the Board from District 2 (Seaway).

“These are two major issues that the Board will have to address over the summer,” said outgoing president Mike Tansey.  “We will have to recruit actively for a new president and add some directors from Seaway in order to ensure that our Board is representative of all of the areas that we draw our players from.”  Tansey, who completed his two year term as president, will remain on the Board as past president. He has agreed to help the Wild organization through the transition to new leadership.

About 40 people attended the meeting, which followed an information session on the Wild program.  Coaches Steve Malette (Minor Bantam), Mathieu Bougie (Major Bantam) and Rick Legault (Minor Midget) attended the information session and answered questions about the programs they have developed for their respective teams for the 2010-11 season.

The following members were elected or acclaimed at the meeting: Marc Lupien (2nd vice president), Mario Galipeau (ice director), Christine Newport (secretary) and Gaetan Periard (league representative).

Anyone who is interested in the president’s position, or joining the Board from District 2 should contact Mike Tansey or any other member of the Board.
