Alexandre Gendron, of Cornwall, was selected first overall by the Hawkesbury Hawks in the CHL draft on May 19.
Alexandre Gendron, the first overall selection and 17 other current and alumni Wild players heard their names called last night at the annual Central Hockey League draft.Earl Armstrong arena was buzzing with activity on Wednesday evening as league officials and local political dignitaries kicked off the draft of the newly re-named tier-1 junior hockey league. Nervous parents braved the warm temperatures inside the arena as team officials made their way to the podium to announce their selections and further hopeful players' dreams of playing elite level hockey.
