Alan Quine, who played with the Eastern Ontario AAA Wild as a Major Bantam in 2007-08, has been selected to the Canadian National Under-18 team that is competing for the World championship in the Czech Republic  August 9-14.

“He’s a great kid who is a threat to score every time he gets the puck,” said Rick Legault, who coached Quine with the AA Cumberland Barons in 2006-07 and again with the Wild the following season. “He works as hard in practice as he does in games, and it’s great to see him enjoying so much success at the next level.”  Quine was captain of the Wild in his lone season with Eastern Ontario.

Quine played his Minor Midget year in Toronto for the Junior Canadiens.  He was selected second overall in the 2008 OHL draft by the Kingston Frontenacs.  He had 28 points for the Frontenacs as a rookie in 2009-10.

Canada is the defending world champion at the U-18 level.
