Win in Peterborough improves squad's record to 20-4-3

The Minor Bantam Wild captured their second tournament championship in as many weeks.  After winning the Markham Majors AAA Tournament during the Thanksgiving Weekend, the Minor Bantam’s traveled up Highway 7 to compete in the Peterborough Petes Bantam AAA Icefest Tournament on the weekend of October 16-18.

After getting off to a slow start in the tournament, the Minor Bantams regained their composure and tenacious style of play to go undefeated in the playoff rounds.

The Wild downed the Ottawa Senators (3-2) in the quarter final, the Markham Majors (3-0) in the semi, and beat the Upper Canada Cyclones 5-1 to claim the championship.

The Team’s head coach, Steve Malette, is totally impressed with his players’ adaptation to his coaching principles which are predominately about work ethic, teamwork and knowing your role on the ice. The team’s overall tournament and regular season record now stands at an impressive 20-4-3.
