Michael Tansey Honoured by the OEMHL

Tansey, President of the Eastern Ontario Wild for all but a few months of its 3 year pilot phase, was instrumental in developing the fledgling association. Said Jim Powell in presenting Tansey with an OEMHL watch, “I consider Mike one of the league’s pioneers and it is to the credit of people like him that the league is flourishing now that is has achieved full league status”.

Tansey relied on his experience in previous volunteer roles to help provide consistent and stable leadership to the Wild in its infancy. His professional background as owner of Tansey Communications was also instrumental in promoting the organization in Eastern Ontario and across the Ottawa region. As the Past President, he continues to be actively involved in the association and in minor hockey in the Ottawa region; He can often be seen shooting the action in local rinks as official photographer for the OEMHL AAA league as well as a contributing writer to Centre Ice, the official newspaper of the ODHA and ODMHA.
