Elie and Golberg selected in OHL draft

Elie goes to London in 5th round, hometown 67s pick Golberg in 7th

Forwards Remi Elie and Mark Golberg of the Minor Midget Wild were both selected in the OHL draft on May 7.  Elie was selected by the London Knights in the 5th round, 89th overall, while Golberg was a seventh round choice of the Ottawa 67s, 123rd overall.

Elie was the 9th top scorer in the Minor Midget OEMHL league in 2010-11 with 39 points in 29 games (15G 24A).  Golberg was the top sniper in the league, with 35 goals in 28 games.  He added 19 helpers for a total of 54 points, good for 4th overall in the OEMHL scoring race.

Elie and Golberg were among 23 players from the OEMHL picked in the draft.  The Ottawa Valley Titans and the the Ottawa 67s led the way with six players chosen from each team.  Five Senators heard their names called, while four players were chosen from the Upper Canada Cyclones. 

In the four years since AAA hockey was introduced in Ottawa, 11 players from the Wild have been picked in the OHL draft.  Congratulations, boys, and good luck!
