Wild Mid-Season Update

2011-11-29

Hockey is a game after all!

With the goal of improving our communication with the parents of Wild players, we are taking the initiative to send email updates as required.

With the goal of improving our communication with the parents of Wild players, we are taking the initiative to send email updates as required. In the past, we have asked our team managers to send association updates via email but will now relieve our managers from this task. Given that our main vehicle of communication is our web site, our email correspondance will generally include links to more detailed information on our web site.  Note that  you may have received some of the info below from your team managers earlier this year.

1. Team Liaisons

We have assigned one Wild Board member to each team to act as a Team Liaison. The primary functions of the Liaison is to improve communication between each team and the Wild Board and to increase our visibility and communication with parents and staff. The Team Liaisons are:

Min. Bantam: André Tondreau (risk@wildaaa.ca)
Maj. Bantam: Marc Richer (registrar@wildaaa.ca)
Min. Midget: Michel Brunet (equipment@wildaaa.ca)
Maj. Midget: Gaetan Perriard (leaguerep@wildaaa.ca)

The expected responsabilities of the Team Liaison's are:

1) Be the first point of contact for both staff and parents when there is an issue that cannot be resolved at the team level. The team liaison will attempt to mediate the conflict to a satisfactory resolution. If this cannot be achieved, he/she will bring the issue to the Board for conflict resolution.

2) Attend approximately 1-2 games per month throughout the season. At these games, the Team Liaison will have a brief chat with the coaching staff to discuss any potential or actual issues or concerns. The Team Liaison will also arrange with the Team Manager to facilitate a brief meeting with the parents prior to the game to explain the role of the Team Liaison and invite them to provide any feedback, both positive and negative, regarding the team as well as the association. The Team Liaison will notify the Coach and Manager in advance of his/her attendance to the games.

3) Arrange for the completion of the mid-season and year-end evaluation forms in November and January. The evaluations from the players will be organized before a practice whereas the evaluations from the parents will be at a game. The Team Liaison will advise the Coach and Manager approximately 2 weeks in advance of these evaluations so that the Team Manager can provide adequate notice to the players and parents.

Team Liaisons will report back to the Board at our monthly meetings.

Should you have any questions about the team liaisons, do not hesitate to contact our VP of Hockey Operations.

2. Wild Development Plan

A new section was added to our web site approximately 1 month ago which provides an overview of our development strategy and approach. It includes information about our Coach Technical Director (Mentor), powerskating coach, and goaltender coach. This can be accessed by clicking the 'Development' menu item on the left side of the home page.

3. Education

A new section was added to our web site approximately 1 month ago which provides an overview of the different future education opportunities available to our players. It also provides many useful links to documents and other websites where more detailed information can be found. This can be accessed by clicking the 'Development' menu item on the left side of the home page.

4. Wild Alumni

We are proud of the players that have been selected to wear a Wild jersey over the years. For this reason, we have included a list of all past and present players with the years and teams that they played for, along with any special individual achievements. This list will be updated on an annual basis.  Should you have any comments or know of any alumni achievements that are missing from htis list, please contact our Director of Communications/Special Events.
