Prior to yesterday, never since the 2007 inauguration of AAA hockey in the National Capital area has a team been crowned regular season champion for two consecutive seasons at the OEMHL-AAA Bantam levels. History was made yesterday afternoon at the Canadian International Hockey Academy located in Rockland, Ontario.

The Eastern Ontario Wild Major Bantam Team clinched top honours of the OEMHL-AAA Major Bantam standings by extending their regular season undefeated streak to eleven (11) games with a stellar 10-0 performance against the Canadian International Hockey Academy.

The win increased the Wild’s regular season (win-loss-tie) record to 21-2-1, sealing 1st place with a total of 43 points and with four (4) regular season games in hand. The Wild’s closest rival, the Ottawa Senators, sit in 2nd  place with 30 points and have six (6) games remaining.

Last season, this Wild Team (comprised of the exact same 17 player roster) posted a regular season record of 20-3-5 to achieve top spot at the Minor Bantam level and were also crowned OEMHL-AAA Regular Season Minor Bantam Champions.

The success of this team continues to amaze everyone. The results are due to their continual hard work, dedication and strong team chemistry. Over the past two seasons, this group of 17 players have achieved the following accomplishments:
