Wild Battle for Wild Day Honours

This year’s annual WILD DAY 2012 saw Eastern Ontario Wild’s Minor Midget team battle the Ottawa Junior 67s in a very entertaining back and forth match which saw the Wild raise their hands victory after the final whistle blew. The Wild pulled ahead with an early second period goal by Jeremy McFarlane in the first 2 minutes of play. The Wild then went on to score 2 more unanswered goals capitalising on a 5 minute major penalty. The 67s stormed back scoring 3 unanswered goals taking advantage of their power play opportunities. Both teams played a vigorous style of hockey using every inch of the 200 foot ice surface, constantly pressuring the goalies Reilly Tondreau (Wild) and Cedric Hansen (67s) to give in. With less then 3 minutes left in regulation time the Wild's Jeremy McFarlane potted the winner to complete his hat trick, the only 5 on 5 goal of the game and ahead 4-3 for the win. This win further secured the Wild in the regular season point’s race for 3^rd place.
