Kevin Tansey will return to Clarkson University after Christmas after recuperating from injuries suffered this summer.   Tansey played his major bantam and minor midget years with the Wild in the first two years of AAA hockey in Ottawa, 2007-09.

The 6'3" defenceman played for the Cumberland Grads in the CCHL for two years before moving on to the Clarkson University Golden Knights last year as a freshman.  He was one of only four players on the Golden Knights who dressed for all 39 games, scoring 2 goals and adding 7 assists.

Tansey was assaulted in July and suffered a concussion, a shoulder injury and cracked ribs.  He has been recuperating at home in Hammond during the fall semester.  Police are investigating the incident but no charges have been laid.

"I'm looking forward to returning to Clarkson and getting back on my skates," said Tansey.  "When I was with the Wild my dream was to be able to continue my hockey career at a higher level, and that's still my goal.  Through hard work and dedication anything is possible."

Tansey is grateful or the many messages of support he has received from members of the Wild family and the Ottawa hockey community.
