Hockey Canada to Eliminate Body Checking from All Levels of PeeWee

The announcement was made early Saturday afternoon, at Hockey Canada's Annual General Meeting in Charlottetown, PEI, that body checking will be removed from all levels of peewee hockey nation wide effective as of the start of the 2013-14 hockey season.

The nation-wide ban begins with the upcoming fall season.

The rule change approved at the AGM was: A modification to playing rule 6.2b, removing bodychecking from peewee levels and below within leagues governed by Hockey Canada, starting in 2013-14.
